Es gibt eine lange Tradition, sich über akademische Titel lustig zu machen. Zum Beispiel über den Dottore in der Commedia dell’Arte. Aber Titel sind auch Teil der Wertschätzung. Die Ignorierung des Titels Wiss.Dir. geht in Österreich einher mit der Streichung der Mittel für rund 320 wissenschaftliche Vereine 2011, mit Unfair Pay, mit Benachteiligungen bei Finanzierungen. Die Verwendung des Titels im offiziellen Verkehr zeugt dagegen vom Respekt vor der tatsächlichen wissenschaftlichen Leistung.

There is a long tradition of making fun of academic titles. For example, about the
Dottore in the Commedia dell’Arte. But titles are also part of appreciation. The ignorance of the title Wiss.Dir. (Sc.Dir.: Scientific Director) goes hand in hand with the cancellation of funds for around 320 scientific associations in Austria in 2011, with unfair pay, with disadvantages in financing. The use of the title in official circulation, on the other hand, testifies to respect for the actual scientific achievement.

– Appointment as a full member of the Austrian UNESCO Commission (today the Commission no longer exists in this sense / instead of a state institution with state appointments, it is now an association)

Il existe une longue tradition de se moquer des titres académiques. Par exemple, à propos du Dottore dans la Commedia dell’Arte. Mais les titres font aussi partie de l’appréciation. L’ignorance du titre Wiss.Dir. (Sc.Dir.: Directeur scientifique) va de pair avec l’annulation de fonds pour environ 320 associations scientifiques en Autriche en 2011, avec une rémunération injuste, avec des désavantages dans le financement. L’utilisation du titre en circulation officielle, en revanche, témoigne du respect de la réalisation scientifique réelle.
